Rule structures are made up of Conditions and Effects. Effects are used to change any item identified by the Conditions established with a rule. (Click here for more information on adding conditions to rules.)
To review all effect options...
- Beginning in Rule Structure window, create a campaign code for your rule. Note: QuoteLink will not allow you to save a created or edited rule without a unique campaign code.
- Click the add icon (
) to create your first effect.
- Select the Effect from the drop-down list. (Click here to see all effects available.)
- Based on the effect chosen, either type the information in the provided field or click the magnifying glass icon (
) and then select the information from the Content Search box.
- Click Save at the top of the screen.
Note: To delete an effect, click the delete icon ().

| rename the generated menu | Replace the default menu name with your selection. Example: "Automatic Transmission Fluid Change" to "Automatic Transmission Fluid Change and Disposal." |
| append text to the generated menu | Add your text to the end of the existing job name. Example: "Remove & Replace Battery" to "Remove & Replace Battery Promotion." |
| remove OE part no | Remove a specific OE part number. |
| remove all OE parts | Remove all OE parts. Note: This does not apply to generic parts. |
| remove OE labour code | Remove a specific OE labour code. |
| remove all OE labours | Remove all OE labour codes. |
| remove generic part no | Remove a specific generic part number, based on the generic part ID. |
| remove all generic parts | Remove all generic parts. |
| add part number | Add a specific OE part number, including the quantity. |
| add labour code | Add a specific OE labour code, including the time in minutes. |
| set total price excl. tax | Set the total price of the job, excluding the tax. |
| set total price incl. tax | Set the total price of the job, including the tax. |
| set total part price excl. tax | Set the total price of the parts, excluding tax. |
| set total part price incl. tax | Set the total price of the parts, including tax. |
| set total labour price excl. tax | Set the total price of labour, excluding tax. |
| set total labour price incl. tax | Set the total price of labour, including tax. |
| auto send additional manuf. menu | Automatically add a selected OE job to the quote. |
| auto send additional custom job | Add a selected dealer-specific custom job to the quote automatically. |
| list manufacturer menu as addon | Add a selected OE job to the list of job add-ons. |
| list custom job as addon | Add a selected dealer-specific custom job to the list of job add-ons. |
| Adjust total part price inc. tax (+/-) | Increase or decrease the price of parts by a percentage. Tax is included. |
| Adjust total part price exc. tax (+/-) | Increase or decrease the price of parts by a percentage. Tax is excluded. |
| Adjust total labour price inc. tax (+/-) | Increase or decrease the price of labour by a percentage. Tax is included. |
| Adjust total labour price exc. tax (+/-) | Increase or decrease the price of labour by a percentage. Tax is excluded. |
| Adjust any labour time (+/-) | Increase or decrease labour times by a percentage. |
| Set any labour time to | Specify all labour times in minutes. |
| replace part number | Substitute a specific OE part with another specific OE part. Select a quantity from 1x to 10x. |
| replace labour code | Substitute a specific OE labour with another specific OE labour. Select a quantity from 1x to 10x. |
| repl. generic part with part | Substitute a generic part with a specific part (OE or generic). Select a quantity from 1x to 10x. |
| set customer type (DMS only) | Allows the addition of free text which is passed to the DMS, has no effect on the GUI. |
| adjust part price | Adjust the price of one specific OE part by a percentage. Tax is excluded. |
| adjust labour price | Adjust the price of one specific OE labour by a percentage. Tax is excluded. |
| set part price | Specify the price of one specific OE part. Tax is excluded. |
| set labour price | Specify the price of one specific labour. Tax is excluded. |
| set rounding details (DMS only) | Set the rounding of the job price (up or down to the nearest place from 0.01 to 1000). This information is passed to the DMS and has no effect on how the quote is displayed in QuoteLink. |
| add hidden labour cost excl. tax | Add a hidden value to the cost of labour on a job. Tax is excluded. |
| add additional labour time (min) | Add additional time in minutes to a specific labour. |
| set MAX labour exc. tax | Set the maximum value for a specific labour. Tax is excluded. |
| set MAX part excl. tax | Set the maximum value for a specific OE part. Tax is excluded. |
| set labour rate excl. tax | Set the labour rate used for the calculation of labour price. Tax is excluded. |
| set labour rate incl. tax | Set the labour rate used for the calculation of labour price. Tax is included. |
