The Menu Manager is a powerful tool that allows you to create rules that modify specific pricing menus. Using Menu Manager, you can apply Conditions that determine the vehicles, parts, or services that are impacted by a rule along with Effects that change any item identified by the Conditions established. Depending on the rules you create, you may completely change the content and price of manufacturer-recommended menus. Check your rules carefully before deploying. (Click here to see how the Rules Report can help you anticipate errors.)
Your Menu Manager rules will not take effect until you complete the deploy process.
The steps below will show you how to quickly and easily complete these three tasks.
Only QuoteLink administrators can access this function.
- Click the Menu Manager tab.
- From the Menu Manager window, click Create Rule.
- Complete the information on the Rule Basics window:
- Give the rule a descriptive, unique name. If you make an error, click the X to clear the box.
- To replace the manufacturer rule with the rule you're creating, tick Override manufacturer menu. To display both the manufacturer rule and your rule, leave the box unticked. The user will select which rule to apply.
- Manufacturer rule content may change while your rule is in effect. To always display your new rule, tick always apply rule. Otherwise, if manufacturer rule content changes, an alert will trigger. (Click here for more information.)
- Add the date range for the promotional menu by typing in the from and to dates or click on the calendar icon and select the date. (This information is required.)
- The Rule Creation Date is automatically set when the rule is saved. Tick the reset creation date box to reset the date in the event of a manufacturer rule change. (Click here for more information.)
- For your reference, add a short description of this rule.

- Set your conditions for the rule. (Click here for detailed information on the conditions available.) Note: Vehicle make and job type are required for every rule and cannot be removed or changed.
