QuoteLink contains functionality that gives you the ability to create rules to modify specific QuoteLink menus. This menu manager does not create any new menus, but instead acts as a filter, adjusting the local menu as directed that is created on the fly as it is added to a quote. When a menu is added to a quote, the conditions of the local menu rules will be compared with the details of the selected menu and vehicle in the quote. If the rule conditions match the menu and vehicle in the quote, the rule will fire and a local menu will be created with the rules' filters. (Click here for more information on menu conditions.)
These filters are called "effects," and each rule has its own set of effects that identifies what will happen to the menu when the conditions are met. The effects are applied to the manufacturer menu as it is at the time of quote creation. As an example, a manufacturer's menu might list a service's price, but a rule created for a discount could automatically change that price to a lower amount--the menu remains the same, but the price is changed for that quote. A National Sales Company (NSC) user creates groups of dealers to apply a rule to and therefore controls who will see the local menu. (Click here for more information on creating dealer groups.)
Notes:
- If multiple menus apply to the vehicle and menu selected for a quote, the user is offered the choice of which menu to add to the quote.
- The functionality within Menu Manager is extremely powerful. It has the potential to completely change the content and price of manufacturer-recommended menus. Please use it with caution and check your local menu rules (and resulting quote prices) carefully.
